About Playa Destiladeras
One of the widest and longest natural beaches along the North Shore highway, famous for boogie boarding, kite surfing, and endless shore walks.
Playa Destiladeras is a beloved classic for both local families and travelers seeking open space. Stretching along the Riviera Nayarit coastal highway between La Cruz and Punta Mita, its broad gradient creates a vast shoreline that never feels crowded. Consistent rolling beach breaks make it fantastic for body surfing and boogie boarding, while steady afternoon breezes attract kite surfers.
How to get there
Located along the North Shore highway (Hwy 200D) between La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Punta Mita.
- Take the ATM 'Punta de Mita' bus from Walmart PV terminal and ask the driver to let you off at 'Playa Destiladeras' (~40 MXN, 50 min). Steps lead down to the beach.
- 35-45 min drive from Puerto Vallarta or 15 min from Bucerías. Ample roadside and paid lot parking available.
